What is a Handfasting? A Handfasting is an ancient Celtic wedding ceremony, usually held on the land in a location that is unique and special to the Beloveds. The ceremony encapsulates the couple’s love story whilst held in a sacred ceremonial circle created with roses and ivy.

Is a Celebrant led wedding ceremony legally binding?  No. The current marriage laws in England & Wales prohibits Celebrants from officiating a legal wedding ceremony.  You will need to arrange a Civil Partnership registration at your local Registrars Office.

Handfasting Wedding Ceremony 

Mandy performed our beautiful outdoor handfasting ceremony. She was the perfect mix of professional, kind and funny. The ceremony was so personal and special, all of our guests commented on how lovely and unique it was. In the lead up to the day, Mandy responded quickly to all queries, she even came to the venue to walk us through everything a month before and then again the day before the wedding.  Handfasting Blessing: - Mandy conducted the most wonderful, personalised ceremony for us. We hired Mandy for an Elemental Blessing including Handfasting as newly-weds; we felt that there was a bit of a spiritual element missing from a registry office wedding, and as such wanted an intimate ceremony that felt more individual. Mandy is an absolute pleasure to work with, she is positive, creative, and very much in tune with what we wanted. She has many great ideas and suggestions but will tailor the service to what the couple wants/needs/feels comfortable with. It felt like the ceremony was truly OURS! The day and the ceremony itself were truly magical, Mandy’s delivery is heartfelt and genuine, and the readings she chose feel very appropriate and spot on.
Moreover, we actually had to push our ceremony a couple of times due to Covid - but Mandy was one of the few suppliers that were lovely to us throughout this time, and we cannot stress enough how much of a treat it was to finally go ahead with it!
